Several updates for you:

-- El Paso County has come up with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state that is a direction we favor. An MOU allows the county and individual oil producers to come to an agreement more quickly and also address specific concerns well-by-well. It has the advantages in Elbert County of being able to address the very different situations of mineral owners in the eastern part of the county as opposed to those in the more densely populated western part of the county.

-- The issue of contaminated ground water in Pavilion, WY continues to evolve. In an article from late September the following quote was made--"A retest of water in Pavillion, Wyoming, found evidence of many of the same gases and compounds the Environmental Protection Agency used to link contamination there to hydraulic fracturing, the first finding of that kind."
